We are filming a soap opera called 'SilverStreet' and we are filming this soap opera on and around SilverStreet. There are many possible risks and hazards at the location where we are filming, there risks and hazards both in terms of equipment and also in terms of our groups health and safety.
There are many possible risks in terms of the safety of the equipment and here they are; there is always a possibility of dropping the camera and damaging them and since we are filming on roads if the camera does drop on the concrete it is bound to get broken. To overcome this problem we have decided to keep the camera safely put away and only taken out if we are actually ready to shoot something, we have also considered that we need to hold the camera with care. The tripod is another piece of equipment which could get damaged, if we drop it or something like that, but we have again came up with a solution to avoid this, we are going to keep the tripod safely in a bag and only take it out when we are ready to film and even then we are going to handle the piece of equipment with care.
More important than the risks and hazards involved with the equipment is the health and safety of all the members of our group. During scenes where the camera man has to cross the road he will not be able to fully keep an eye on the road and this is very dangerous, but we have came up with a solution to this problem and the solution is for at least two people to guide the cameraman and keep a watch for him. Furthermore in a shot where the charter has to drive the car and stop to drop someone off character, he may not be able to fully focus on the road and therefore we have arranged for an extra person to be sitting in the car with him to direct him throughout the shot.
Bad weather
In case there is bad weather, I will make sure my production crew is well sheltered against the weather. I will also make sure the equipment is not damaged or ruined by the weather.
Road Traffic
I will make sure that my production crew is not in danger by the road and if the traffic noise is too loud to film, we will let the traffic ease down before we start filming.
Filming difficulty
I will make sure the places we are filming are not in place of danger e.g. on the pavement, on the road. I will also make sure that the actors are not performing if they feel the location is not safe enough.

Overall there are many risks and hazards to consider and deal with when filming at any location and as a group we have come up with many possible scenarios that could occur and for each of the scenarios we came up with the best solution possible and incase we could not come up with a solution to a certain problem then we have decided as group to just cut that problem out of the film completely.
The next necessary step was to do a risk assesment, this was done to avoid any serious problems in the process of producing our trailer. Once we had the possible risks covered with salutions, we were then coming close to the end of our research and planning and all we had to do now was decide on times to film
